Bloody Lovely Scarf Competition: And the Winner is…

Not only are we your number one source for premier writing on all things Doncaster Rovers, but we also give you the chance to win nice things to. The word you’re looking for is ‘martyrs’, and why yes, you are more than welcome. Anyway, last week we announced a competition offering you the chance to win a luxury Cashmere red and white Rovers scarf from the seemingly nice people at Savile Rogue. Unlike your mainstream reality dross we don’t drag out our competitions with elimination rounds and hype, nope, all you had to do to stand a chance of winning the scarf was to draw, or create, a picture of Rovers centre half Rob Jones.

We were overwhelmed by a mountain of entries (7), making it very hard to pick a winner and we thank each and every one of you for taking the time to enter when you surely had much better things to be doing. Below we showcase each of our entries, with the winner announced at the foot of the page. Thank you all again.

AND THE BLOODY LOVELY WINNER OF THE BLOODY LOVELY SCARF IS…

by Sonia Hardwick

by Sonia Hardwick

So huge congratulations to Sonia Hardwick, who very modestly told us in her email “it’s not very good and I’m not trying to suggest Rob Jones looks like the elephant man”. The Cashmere scarf will be winging its way to Wheatley Hills imminently, where Sonia will no doubt wear it triumphantly, sashaying through the streets like style icon Alexa Chung, or Steve Wignall in his pomp.

You know the syaing no-one leaves empty handed, well that’s not true of popular STAND sadly, where our first five entrants will receive bugger all for their efforts, but we have decided to reward our runner-up Emma Pickering, as our best junior entrant. We’ve nothing more Savile Rogue to give out, but we will send Emma a piece of popular STAND or Viva Rovers merchandise as a second-place prize. It is Christmas after all. Thanks again to all our entrants, and please, don’t have Rob Jones related nightmares.
